Panch Puran (also spelled Panchphoran or Panch Phoron) is an essential, aromatic whole-spice blend from the Bengali, Bihari, and Odia cuisines of Eastern India and Bangladesh. The name literally translates to “five spices.”

This EGN Panch Puran Whole Mix is a classic blend of five whole seeds in equal parts, carefully selected to deliver a warm, complex, and slightly pungent aroma to your cooking. The blend typically includes:

  1. Cumin Seeds (Jira)
  2. Fennel Seeds (Mouri)
  3. Mustard Seeds (Shorsho)
  4. Fenugreek Seeds (Methi)
  5. Nigella Seeds (Kalonji/Black Cumin)

How to Use: Temper your cooking oil or ghee with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Panch Puran until the seeds splutter and release their fragrance.
